PHILADELPHIA – La Salle scored three second half goals as they defeated Drexel, 4-0, at Vidas Field on Thursday evening. The Dragons fell to 4-5-1 overall, while La Salle improved to 8-2.<br />

The Explorers opened the scoring with just under 18 minutes to go in the first half. La Salle's Maryam Huseini got the ball off a restart and lobbed it over Drexel's defense to Kerri Aiken, who put a header past Eve Badana for the only goal of the half.<br />

Midway through the second half, La Salle picked up an insurance goal as Renee Washington scored off another assist from Huseini. The Explorers would add two more late in the second half as Marykate Bateman and Kelsey Haycook found the net. Both of these goals came after Badana had made an initial save, but the Explorers were there to knock in the rebound.<br />

La Salle outshot Drexel 21-7. Badana totalled nine saves on the game, while Explorers' keeper Katie Getzinger tallied two.<br />

The Dragons open up conference play on Sunday as they travel to Maryland to face Towson.
