Philadelphia, Pa.  – Frantz Massenat scored 24 points and added seven assists as Drexel defeated Hofstra, 74-63, on Sunday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. The Dragons broke open a close game by shooting 55 percent in the second half.<br />

Drexel (14-11, 6-6 CAA) led by just three with 11:46 to play in the contest after Chris Fouch was called for a flagrant one foul when he inadvertently hit a Hofstra player with an elbow as he was shooting a jump shot. The Pride (8-19, 4-8) made one of two free throws to make it a 47-44 game. The Dragons responded with 10 straight points as part of a 14-3 run. Fouch scored 11 of those 14 points and capped the run with a four-point play, giving the Dragons a 61-47 advantage. The Pride would not be able to cut the lead to single digits the rest of the way.<br />

Massenat continued his outstanding play in league games. The senior, who moved into eighth place on the school's all-time scoring list, was 7-for-12 from the field and was 5-for-7 from behind the arc. Fouch finished with 16 points, 14 of them coming in the second half. Rodney Williams added 11 points and seven boards, while Dartaye Ruffin was also in double figures with 10 points. He had a game-high nine rebounds. The Dragons shot 53 percent from behind the arc including 7-for-10 in the second half.<br />

Zeke Upshaw finished with 20 points to lead the Pride. He made five three-pointers and had four assists. Jordan Allen scored 10 points.
